# PMR Preview: Alisa Jordan

 Published by [PMR](https://read.pmreps.com/blog/author/pmr) on Oct 29, 2026, 7:45:00 AM

Meet Alisa Jordan, a sales representative at PMR covering K-12 school districts across Mississippi. Before joining PMR, Alisa spent 30 years in school child nutrition, working her way from office secretary to district director, which means she has sat in the very chair her customers sit in today. We sat down with her for our latest PMR Preview interview to get to know the person behind the role: how three decades in school nutrition shaped her approach, why she'll always choose an on-site visit, and what she gets up to when she's off the clock. Get to know Alisa in her own words below.

### Hi, Alisa. To start, can you tell us how you got started in the foodservice industry?

I worked for 30 years in the School Child Nutrition industry.  I started out as an office secretary in the early 90’s and worked my way up to Director in the early 2000’s.

### How did you wind up at PMR?

I must credit my years of working with Matt Henson as the reason. PMR is an outstanding company. His integrity, generosity and friendship over the years, working with me as a director, helped me understand the industry.

### What is your role at PMR?

I am a sales rep.

### What is your area of focus?

I work mainly with K-12 school districts in Mississippi. I can relate to directors in school districts. I try to stay on top of all the new changes they face each year so that conversations with them are genuine. I want them to always understand that I know how demanding and important their role is in a school district.

### What's the most rewarding experience you've had in this industry?

The most rewarding experience is taking on a project for the first time. I believe the only way to learn is to face the project head-on.  Yes, I have made mistakes, but all my K-12 team members are right there to help me. I never feel like I am in it alone!

### What do you think separates a good rep group from a great one?

The leadership team is the backbone of success.

### How do you help customers make the right equipment decision?

I feel on-site visits are the best way to help a customer make decisions. With an on-site visit, this puts me in their shoes and lets them know I care about the quality of the product they are purchasing. PMR always did the same for me when I was a director.

### What’s your favorite piece of equipment to sell or demo — and why?

My favorites are walk-in coolers and freezers. Although I am still learning to take on these projects, they are a challenge, and I like the challenge!

### What do you enjoy most about working at PMR?

The weekends!  Just joking!  I enjoy my co-workers and setting up events! I learn so much from these events, and they are a huge part of training.

### What makes PMR different from other rep groups?

Obviously, it’s because I work for them. However, I would say again it’s the leadership! I BET THAT IS EVERYONES ANSWER. But what sets me apart is that I mean it. LOL, LOL, LOL.

### What does great customer service mean to you in this industry?

Always, first and foremost, being attentive to your customers needs BIG or small.

### If your customers described you in three words, what would they say?

Nice, funny, witty, and very, very helpful!  I asked one of my customers, and this is what she said, lol.

### What's something most people don't know about you?

When I was 8 years old, 50 years ago (1976), I threw out the first pitch at the girls' softball complex in Hurley, MS. My mom and dad started the league. My dad was my coach, and my mom was the first president of the girls' softball league. At the first-ever opening ceremony, I threw out the first pitch to Mr. Frank D. Lynn. Mr. Lynn was a businessman and congressional representative for our area. Anyway, I have kept that ball, signed by Mr. Lynn, for 50 years now.

On March 7, 2026, the softball league celebrated 50 years, and they called to ask my mother to throw out the commemorative pitch marking the occasion. My mom is 76. When she called to tell me, I let her know that I still had the original softball from 1976 and that she should throw out the ball to make the occasion. My mom did throw out the ball,  and my 8-year-old niece was the one she threw it to. Family memories, I love! I have included a picture of the ball and my mom pitching it out.

### What do you enjoy doing when you’re not visiting kitchens or job sites?

I love being on the water. Boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, or sloshing around in my waders when it floods. Oh, and I love to go fishing. Saltwater fishing is the bomb. I don’t care what I catch as long as I am catching them!

### What’s your go-to comfort food?

Ribeye – medium rare, of course!

### What’s your favorite restaurant and why?

It used to be the Tiki Restaurant here in Pascagoula because that is where I met the man of my dreams 12 years ago. However, the restaurant is closed now. But the man made his way back into my life a year and a half ago. Perfect!

### Let's go through the Fast Five... Early bird or night owl?

Early bird, getting too old to be a night owl.

### Coffee order?

Heavy cream with a little coffee.

### Dream kitchen gadget (for home)?

I don’t like to cook, so Mr. Belvedere would be perfect.  However, since I live in the south, I would settle for Aunt Bea. Andy and Opie are welcome too!

### Favorite sports team?

I love to watch women’s college softball, but any team in the SEC is a favorite. Wait, except Alabama Crimson Tide. Sorry, not sorry!

### Bucket list destination?

Bora Bora – I want to live there for a month in a little place by the beach and just tour the coastline and towns with my soon-to-be husband.

#### Thanks for chatting with us, Alisa!
