PMR Preview: Anthony Chiappetta

Our latest PMR Preview highlights Anthony Chiappetta. He joins us in Quotations and Custom Equipment and brings extensive experience in foodservice and working with brands. We sat down with Anthony to learn a little more about him!

Tell us a bit about yourself. How did you wind up at PMR?

A former coworker informed me of an opening at PMR, and I jumped at the opportunity. I’d admired PMR from my dealer-side days and always thought, “Now that’s a team I’d love to join.”

What do you enjoy most about working at PMR?

The people—hands down. Great vibes, great minds.

What excites you most about your job?

The relationships—building them, growing them, and learning from them.

How did you get started in the foodservice business?

I started out working as a restaurant server (and)  waited on a couple that . . . I learned that (they) owned a restaurant equipment company, and the rest is history.

What do you see as the biggest challenges facing the restaurant industry today?

Navigating labor shortages and rising costs while still delivering great experiences.

Are there any current trends in foodservice that stand out to you?

Smaller footprints, smarter kitchens, and tech that actually helps—not just dazzles.

Where do you see the future of the industry headed?

 Toward efficiency and sustainability—with a side of personalization.

What is your favorite restaurant, and why?

Vida. I’m all about the shareable small plates and that cozy-chic atmosphere.

If you could pick three dinner guests, living or dead, who would they be and why?

Anthony Bourdain (for the stories), Chris Farley (for the fun), and my wife (because she is my best friend).

What are some of your passions outside of work?

Family, friends, soccer, football, and mountain biking—preferably downhill and fast.

Who are your biggest influences?

My parents, my coaches, and a few friends’ parents who led by example.

What is the one item you can’t leave home without?

My keys, because I typically can’t get far without them.

Where did you grow up? Any interesting places you’ve lived throughout your life?

Sanford, NC and Morristown, TN—small towns with big heart.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Sorrento, Italy. Sunshine, seafood, and views that don’t quit.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?

Japan. Culture, cuisine, and a whole lot of adventure.
